Gramp's Missouri Girls Class Three Basketball ratings
Here are Gramp's Missouri Girls Class Three Basketball ratings, Updated 3/20/2023
Final class three girls ratings
Updated 2/26/2023
Class three girls district competitions were fast and furious, especially district six with #2 South Shelby and #6 Palmyra but Gramps managed to pick both districts and come up with an 86% prediction percentage on all district games. District 2 was a killer with only two picks right out of five games. Will need to sharpen the pencil next time.
I did have a couple schools in the wrong district but have updated that as well. I will recalculate the ratings and post next week.

I have been posting updated ratings and then following with the ratings by district, but since I am behind on the girls class three, I am posting them both here. The top ratings is by rank order and the second table will be class three girls sorted by district. Fair Grove and South Shelby continue to dominate class three with Skyline, Strafford and El Dorado Springs not too far behind.
As we look at districts (below), it really sucks that Fair Grove and Strafford, the #4 team in the class, are both in district 11. I think that Sparta, the #3 team in district 11, could be the district champ in most of the other districts.
In the state tournament, MSHSAA has districts 1-4 and 13-16 playing in the top bracket and districts 5-12 playing in the lower bracket. Eleven of the top twelve teams in Gramp's ratings are in that lower bracket. I know I sound like a broken record, talking about the tournament setup but, and it is a big BUT, why can't teams be seeded after the district championships and balance the tournament field so that the best teams get to the finals?

In December, Fair Grove was on top of the Missouri girls' class three basketball ratings but I always wonder if these early ratings are an anomaly but Fair Grove seems to be the real deal at 12-3 with a 27-point scoring differential. Not too far behind Fair Grove is South Shelby at 12-2 with a 25-point scoring differential. Both of these teams are running over class three teams by large scores and their losses are to class five or six powerhouse teams.
Skyline, who has lost to Fair Grove, Palmyra, and Strafford are not too far behind these top two. It's an excellent group of top-ten teams that can compete with larger-class schools. Girls' basketball is alive and well in Missourah.
as of December 20, 2022.
With only one loss to #5 class five powerhouse West Plains, the Fair Grove Lady Eagles look real strong in class three, followed by always tough Skyline. The top ten are all very good teams.
